Machinerie G.A.S. Ltée's mission is to design and manufacture high-quality, uniquely designed Combined Shear/Press-Brakes. The company also manufactures steel parts and, through it all, remains an industry leader through its research and development of new products in order to satisfy demanding clients.

When the company was founded in 1969 by Roger Gingras, Machinerie G.A.S. Ltée began its operations in rented quarters. With his machine and welding shop, Mr. Gingras quickly built a solid reputation for the quality of his work. As a result, business was booming and he decided to build his first shop.

In the following years, Mr. Gingras was asked to design a variety of machines, which highlighted his skill at designing and innovating in the manufacturing of new products. In 1978, Mr. Gingras incorporated the business and expanded once again by building a new shop. Two years later, in spite of the recent expansion, Mr. Gingras was faced with a lack of space in his welding shop. To solve this problem, he decided to design a machine that would combine the functions of a shear and a press-brake.

In 1982, after more than a year of development, the first prototype was operational. In the light of very promising results, he decided to patent the Shear/Press-Brake. Two other prototypes were built over the following four years. The GINGRAS was finally ready for marketing. Since 1987, the Shear/Press-Brake has been sold across North America and has acquired an enviable reputation.
